Photography, collaboration, and everyday life in the U.S. - Mexico Borderlands
Join artist M. Jenea Sánchez for a talk and plática exploring photography, collaboration, and everyday life in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. The conversation highlights Wellspring | Manantial: Fronteriza Collaborations and World Making, featuring photographs by Sánchez and members of the women's collective DouglaPrieta Trabajan (DPT), whose long-standing collaborations are rooted in shared labor, community knowledge, and collective forms of image-making. Following a presentation of her work, Sánchez will join Dr. Adetty Pérez de Miles and audience members in a public conversation about the experiences that inform community-based and socially engaged art. This event is part of Wellspring, The Wittliff Collections exhibition celebrating the vision of Bill and Sally Wittliff and their commitment to the cultural legacy of Texas, the Southwest, and Mexico.
