Join The Wittliff Collections for a special event celebrating the life and music of Selena and the impact she has had on society in the 30 + years since her tragic death. Our special guest will be Selena's fashion designer and confidant, Martin Gomez.

Due to high response we are holding this event in the Alkek Teaching Theater, not in The Wittliff galleries. The teaching theater is located in the Alkek Library across the breezeway. The Wittliff galleries will remain open after the event until 9:00 pm.

Experience the magic of the typewriter at Impressions: A Celebration of the Typed Page on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 2 p.m.

Step up to a vintage typewriter provided by Austin Typewriter, Ink., and let the rhythmic sound of keys striking paper ignite your creativity. Typewriter poets will be on hand to write custom pieces, and you can try your own hand with guided prompts.

The event concludes with an open mic where attendees can share freshly typed words. Enjoy refreshments and lively conversation as we celebrate the unique, tactile joy of creating something new.
