Nepantla Familias showcases 26 authors featured in the brand-new literary anthology published in the Wittliff Collections Book Series: Nepantla Familias: An Anthology of Mexican American Literature on Families in between Worlds. Included are prominent writers such as Sandra Cisneros, Reyna Grande, and Francisco Cantú along with many other luminaries.

Edited by award-winning author Sergio Troncoso, Nepantla Familias explores Nepantla — the “in-between” space of the borderland. This rich collection of stories, poems, and nonfiction charts the family dynamics of living between traditional and contemporary worlds, between Spanish and English, between cultures with traditional and shifting identities. Here readers will encounter the contemporary Mexican American experience, as seen through the eyes of perceptive writers who explore and reveal the life journeys common to us all.

Several authors in Nepantla Familias contributed their treasured family photographs for the new exhibition at The Wittliff. Also on display are highlights from the literary papers of writers whose major archives are held at The Wittliff: Sandra Cisneros, Sergio Troncoso, and Severo Perez.

The writers featured in the book and exhibition are: Francisco Cantú, Oscar Cásares, Daniel Chacón, Sandra Cisneros, Diana Marie Delgado, Rubén Degollado, David Dominguez, Alex Espinoza, Rigoberto González, Reyna Grande, Stephanie Elizondo Griest, ire’ne lara silva, Stephanie Li, Diana López, Lorraine M.
