Sunday, April 27 @ 2pm

Soul Curcuit book cover

RSVP HERE

Join us for a talk by Austin writer Sarah Bird who will speak about her award-winning photography book, Juneteenth Rodeo. Bird’s photographs offer a rare portrait of the jubilant, vibrant, vital, nearly hidden, and now all-but-vanished world of small-town Black rodeos in the late 1970s.

The event is in celebration of the Wittliff's major exhibition of Sarah Bird's photography Soul Circuit: Juneteenth Rodeos in Texas, which was created by Humanities Texas in collaboration with Sarah Bird and the Neill-Cochran House Museum.

The event, which is co-sponsored by Humanities Texas, will be followed by a book signing with books for sale at the event.
